Video of the Day: Do sports drinks really work?
This ad is an oldie (by Web standards), but a goodie. It answers the questions athletes have asked for years. Don't be fooled by the Mentos/Diet Coke-type setup. It's worth the 40 seconds of your life.

Saturday Scorecard: Athletes get hungry, too
In honor of dining month here at OnMilwaukee.com, we kick off this edition of Scorecard with an item about athletes and food. Just before training camp, Bucks rookie point guard Brandon Jennings indicated that he likes to hang around Bayshore Town Center, in part because he loves eating at The Cheesecake Factory. While hardly surprising, that revelation struck a chord. One of the more common questions we get asked at Saturday Scorecard headquarters is "Where do players like to go to eat?"

A tasty trip through Wisconsin cookbooks
Even in this Internet age, when you can find 40 variations of almost every recipe with a few clicks of the mouse, cookbooks hold a prominent place in most bookstores. One of the many sub-genres is "regional," which means if you're looking for ways to make traditional Wisconsin dishes like sauerbraten, a fish boil or even "booyah," you'll find plenty of help.

Green Bay Replay: Vikings 30, Packers 23
A whole lot of Packers fans watched Brett Favre perform on "Monday Night Football" and were overcome by waves of nostalgia. Decked out in Vikings purple and performing before a shrieking throng in the Metrodome, Favre shredded the Packers defense and led his team to a 30-23 victory that was far more convincing than the final score indicates.

Green Bay Replay: Packers 36, Rams 17
The final score screamed "rout." The final stats shouted "closer than it looked" and "closer than it should have been." None of that really matters now. Sure, the Packers needed to beat the Rams Sunday in St. Louis, especially after losing a home game to Cincinnati in Week 2. Now that the game is over, and the expected verdict was reached, everyone can focus on Favre-a-palooza.

Saturday Scorecard: Protecting Rodgers is Priority 1
How will the Packers fare Sunday afternoon in St. Louis? One way to gauge any team's fate is to project how well its most important player will perform. Aaron Rodgers fits that description for the Packers and his performance is tied to that of the jumbled offensive line. The five guys up front need to give Rodgers time and keep him healthy, which tops our list of five things to watch.
